The AHRC recently ran a consultation event on the future of its Research Leave Scheme, which, despite its much-loved status amongst philosophers, is clearly not much loved by the AHRC itself. (The basic problems seem to be that it is very expensive now fEC has been introduced, and it has a fairly low rate of successful completion.)
